But performing this workout can be harmful to a person in the following four conditions.
If you have a heart problem
HIIT is a very intense form of workout, which puts a lot of burden on one’s heart. While performing HIIT, your working muscles demand more oxygen. For the transportation of oxygen, your body has to work extra, which puts a lot of pressure on your heart and cardio respiratory system. In general, this kind of stress makes your heart stronger. But if you are suffering from a cardiac problem, then it can backfire. In case you smoke, the risk can be even higher. Just to be safe, consult your doctor before going for this form of exercise.
If you have hangover
You must avoid doing any intense exercise like HIIT if drank last night. Performing HIIT in hangover can increase the risk of getting injured. Also, you won’t be able to focus in your form and breathing. Working out in such condition will not be beneficial. So, avoid going to the gym. Instead do some light exercises like yoga or walking.
If you are new to exercise
If you are someone who has just started exercising, then do not try to perform HIIT immediately. Take things slow and get into the system first before attempting HIIT. Your muscles and tissues are not strong enough right now to handle this kind of high-intensity training. If you will try to do HIIT in the first-week, you might get injured or strain your muscles. Build your base first and then move ahead.
If you are injured
If you are injured or your muscles are strained then try to stay away from this form of workout. HIIT puts a lot of stress on your muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments and chances are that you might end up hurting yourself. Stick to a gentler form of exercise while you recover.
